Hydria Water modernises Kiev’s largest pump station

Kiev’s largest pumping station for wastewater, Obolon, which was recently modernised and to which Hydria Water supplied several products, was recently re-opened. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Kiev mayor’s office, the Swedish embassy, and several journalists from newspapers and television networks.

The project to reconstruct Obolon pump station had a total cost of roughly 44 million UAH, and was carried out within the framework of an extensive modernisation programme of the Ukrainian capital. The new equipment will, among other things, facilitate considerable energy savings for the station.

– We have already cut energy consumption by 20 percent, and intend to further improve on this, Yuri Romanko, the assistant director of sewage pumping stations, told ABC News.

The project has been carried out by Hydria Water’s reseller AWP Nordic in Kiev.
