A collaboration that grows through trust

What began as a machine delivery for the inlet of the wastewater treatment plant in Tranås has, through trust-building collaboration and advisory support, evolved into much more than that.

When the Tranås treatment plant needed to update equipment to manage the incoming flow, they reached out to Hydria Water. The inquiry was initially about a straightforward machine delivery, something that would fit the plant’s channel. However, when Hydria Water was on-site, it became clear that the requested installation might not be the most effective.

– We started crunching the numbers on their flows and what they actually needed, which resulted in us recommending solutions different from the ones initially requested,” says Jörgen Edelmalm, service advisor at Hydria Water.

The machines were delivered and during the installation, the Tranås plant leaders further recognized the depth of Hydria Water’s knowledge and experience.

– This opened up opportunities for us to conduct inspections on other parts of the treatment plant and provide advice on potential improvements,” says Johan Fritz, Sales Manager at Hydria Water.

Subsequently, Hydria Water delivered their newly developed sand washer, an external sludge receiver, and new shut-off gates. Additionally, 18 plastic chain scrapers in the sedimentation basins were replaced. Today, the project, which started with a simple machine delivery, has grown into a collaboration based on mutual trust, encompassing service agreements, commissioning, and fine-tuning.

– As we’ve worked together, the trust in us has grown. They needed a collaborative partner who could identify improvement opportunities, and that’s what we’ve become,” says Johan. “It’s rewarding that we’ve been able to deliver both expertise and a significant portion of our mechanical equipment, and to work directly with the end-user.”
